1 / 12
Start with a circle the size of the finished bloom.
The circle should be the size you want the finished head.

حول هذا الرسم
A hibiscus is five wide overlapping petals and one exclamation mark: the stamen column that shoots out past the petals entirely, tipped with a pollen knob. No other common flower reaches outside its own outline like that, and the column is what the drawing lives on - petals are forgiving, the reach is not.
Like every flower here, it is built from the centre outward - core first, petals negotiating around it, stem from behind the head.

-
الدرجة 1
Start with a circle the size of the finished bloom.
The circle sets the finished size and stops the petals creeping outward as you add them - the commonest way a flower drawing ends up twice its intended size. Keep it light; it comes off at the end.
إنتبه Skipping the circle and letting the petals sprawl.
.. تحقق The circle should be the size you want the finished head.
-
الدرجة 2
Draw the centre.
Everything radiates from the centre, so it goes down first, and every later petal is judged against it. Slightly off-centre reads more naturally than dead middle - real flowers are rarely symmetrical.
إنتبه Starting with petals and fitting a centre in afterwards.
.. تحقق The centre should sit within the guide circle, roughly middle.
-
الدرجة 3
Draw the first group of petals.
Vary them as you go: a couple wider, one shorter, one overlapping its neighbour, and none exactly opposite another. Identical petals arranged evenly around a circle read as a printed logo, never as a flower.
إنتبه Making every petal the same width and length.
.. تحقق No two adjacent petals should match exactly.
-
الدرجة 4
Fill in the other half.
The second half has to negotiate with the first - some petals now tuck BEHIND ones already drawn. That overlap is what gives the head depth.
إنتبه Squeezing the remaining petals to fit without overlap.
.. تحقق At least two petals should pass behind others.
-
الدرجة 5
Add the dark core.
The centre is the darkest part of almost every flower - it is effectively a hole into shadow, and the eye reads depth from it. Commit to it now so the values around it have something to key against.
إنتبه A pale centre, which makes the head look flat.
.. تحقق The centre should be darker than any petal.
-
الدرجة 6
Add the stem, coming from behind the head.
From behind the head, never from its bottom edge, and with a slight curve - a dead-straight stem reads as wire. It is thicker than you expect near the head.
إنتبه A ruler-straight stem meeting the head's outline.
.. تحقق The stem should vanish behind a petal.
-
الدرجة 7
Put the leaves on at different heights.
Different heights, different sizes, never opposite each other in a matched pair, and each angled its own way off the stem. Leaves are the place where flower drawings go symmetrical and die.
إنتبه Two matched leaves at the same height, like a logo.
.. تحقق The two leaves should differ in height and size.
-
الدرجة 8
Add texture to the petals.
A few veins on the nearest petals only, each following its petal's curve from base to tip. Texture on every petal flattens the head; texture on the near ones pulls them forward.
إنتبه Veining every petal equally.
.. تحقق The far petals should stay clean.
-
الدرجة 9
Darken under each petal edge.
Each petal casts a small shadow on the one behind it. Those little wedges of dark are what separate the layers - without them the petals dissolve into one shape.
إنتبه Shading whole petals instead of the overlaps.
.. تحقق You should be able to tell which petal is in front.
-
الدرجة 10
Add what makes it a hibiscus.
Whatever identifies the species goes on now, and only now - detail added before the structure works just gets erased along with the structure. Put it where it matters most and then stop early.
إنتبه Leading with the identifying detail before the form works.
.. تحقق The flower should read as its species at arm's length.
-
الدرجة 11
Darken the very middle once more.
Push the centre darker than feels safe, in two or three passes rather than one heavy scrub. Beginners stop two steps short of dark enough, and the centre is the one place you can commit without risk.
إنتبه Timid values in the middle.
.. تحقق Squint: the centre should read first.
-
الدرجة 12
Darken the final lines, rub out the guide.
Weight the outer petal edges and the stem, keep veins light, and erase the guide circle completely - any surviving arc of it reads as a halo hanging behind the finished flower.
إنتبه Leaving the construction circle visible.
.. تحقق No arc of the guide circle should survive.

ماذا تعلمك هذه في الواقع
What transfers is layering - each petal casting its small shadow on the one behind. That is the same overlap logic as fingers, foliage and feathers.
The hibiscus adds reach to the radial build - one element escaping the construction circle on purpose. Knowing when a feature may break the guide, and doing it deliberately rather than by drift, is the difference between a variation and an error.
ممارسة هذه: Line confidence Proportion Value range
ماذا تحتاجين
A pencil, kept light until the last step, and an eraser you will actually use. The construction is deliberately drawn to be removed.
إذا كان يسير على نحو خاطئ
If it reads as a generic flower, the column is missing or too short: it extends well BEYOND the petals, one confident line with a knobbed tip and a few filament ticks.
If the petals look stiff, they are too separate: hibiscus petals overlap generously, each one wide as a hand and ruffled at the outer edge.
If the ruffle turns to scribble, restrain it: two or three shallow waves per petal edge, deeper toward the tip, none at the base.

أسئلة يطرحها الناس
- What is the stick in the middle of a hibiscus?
- The stamen column - it extends well past the petals, tipped with a pollen knob and a few short filament ticks. It is the one feature the drawing cannot skip.
- How many petals does a hibiscus have?
- Five, each wide as a hand, overlapping generously with ruffled outer edges. Separated petals stiffen the flower immediately.
- How do I draw ruffled petal edges?
- Two or three shallow waves per edge, deeper toward the tip and flat at the base. More waves than that reads as scribble rather than ruffle.
- Can I draw a hibiscus on paper instead of the canvas?
- Yes - every step works on paper, and there is a printable step sheet with the construction on one page and the finished sketch on the other. Photograph the result and it can be measured exactly like a canvas drawing.
- How do I start drawing a hibiscus?
- A light circle the size of the finished head, then the centre, then petals - never petals first, or the head sprawls to twice its intended size.
- How many petals should a hibiscus have?
- Fewer than you think, varied in size, with some overlapping. Count on a reference if you have one rather than guessing - suggestion beats census on every flower you will ever draw.
- Why does my hibiscus look like a cartoon flower?
- The petals are identical and evenly spaced. Vary the widths, let petals overlap, and push the centre darker than feels safe.
- Can a beginner draw a hibiscus?
- Yes - the centre-outward construction keeps the head under control at every stage, and even a rough version still reads because the structure is right.
- Where does the stem join a hibiscus?
- Behind the head, disappearing behind a petal, with a slight curve along its whole length - never butted straight against the outline, which reads as stuck on.
