A penguin is a bird drawn as a bowling pin: one upright mass, flippers instead of wings, and the whole drawing carried by a single interior line - the boundary between the dark back and the white front. Get that bib line right and everything else is forgiving.
Every bird here starts the same way: one egg for the body, a small circle for the head, and a beak that grows out of the skull rather than sitting on it.
Langkah-langkah
-
Langkah 1
Lay in the body mass first, in one motion.
Nearly every bird is one egg-shaped mass with everything else attached to it. Draw the egg in one motion and let its tilt say what the bird is doing.
Awas Building the body from several small arcs.
Priksa The body should be one smooth closed shape.
-
Langkah 2
Add a small circle for the head.
Bird heads are smaller relative to the body than beginners expect - usually about a quarter of the body length. Measure against the egg before you commit.
Awas An oversized head, which turns the bird into a cartoon.
Priksa About four head-widths should fit along the body.
-
Langkah 3
Draw the neck on both sides.
Even a short-necked bird has a neck: two curves joining head to body, front and back. Without them the head floats and the bird reads as a snowman.
Awas Leaving the head disconnected from the body.
Priksa Both neck curves should touch head and body.
-
Langkah 4
Draw the bill.
The beak grows out of the skull rather than sitting on its surface, and its angle continues the line of the head. Shape and size are the strongest species cues on the whole bird.
Awas Sticking the beak flat onto the front of the circle.
Priksa The top edge of the beak should line up with the skull.
-
Langkah 5
Put the eye in, high and forward.
A bird's eye sits high and close to the beak. Small, dark, with one highlight - and its position matters far more than its rendering.
Awas Placing the eye centrally, which deadens the whole face.
Priksa The eye should be nearer the beak than the back of the head.
-
Langkah 6
Lay the wing over the body.
The folded wing lies ON the body, crossing its outline. That overlap is what attaches it - a wing drawn inside the body outline reads as a pattern, not a limb.
Awas Drawing the wing floating inside the silhouette.
Priksa The wing should cross the body outline somewhere.
-
Langkah 7
Suggest the feather layers.
Feathers come in groups, and the groups are what you draw - two or three curved rows, not individual feathers. The eye supplies the rest reliably.
Awas Drawing every feather, which turns the wing into a fence.
Priksa You should count feather GROUPS, not feathers.
-
Langkah 8
Draw the legs, set well back under the body.
Legs attach much further back than they appear to, because the visible leg is really the bird's foot and ankle. Get the attachment point right and the balance follows.
Awas Legs planted centrally, which makes the bird tip forward.
Priksa The legs should attach behind the middle of the egg.
-
Langkah 9
Put the tail feathers on.
The tail continues the body's line rather than being stuck on the end. Draw it as one shape - separate feathers come last if at all.
Awas A tail at war with the angle of the body.
Priksa The tail's top edge should flow from the back line.
-
Langkah 10
Draw the underside of the penguin.
The breast is the fullest curve on the bird and it carries the pose. Round it generously - a flat chest makes any bird look deflated.
Awas A flat front, which loses the bird's volume.
Priksa The chest should be the roundest curve on the drawing.
-
Langkah 11
Draw the pattern this bird actually has.
Markings follow the body's form - they curve as the body curves. Flat pattern drawn over a round form cancels all the volume you just built.
Awas Drawing the pattern flat, ignoring the curve underneath.
Priksa Any stripe or patch should bend with the body.
-
Langkah 12
Put a handful of feather ticks on the chest.
Three or four short V-marks down the breast, each curving with the chest rather than sitting flat, and the whole bird reads as feathered. They also confirm the body's roundness - marks on a form must bend with it, which is the same rule as every stripe and patch on the site.
Awas Covering the breast evenly, which turns the bird into a pinecone.
Priksa The marks should bend the same way as the chest outline.
-
Langkah 13
Draw the ground line and the shadow beneath the penguin.
One line under the feet and one flattened shadow arc beneath the body, darkest between the legs. A bird with no ground floats in white space no matter how well it is built - and the shadow also confirms where the legs actually are, which birds hide well.
Awas Skipping it and leaving the bird hovering.
Priksa The shadow should sit directly below the body's widest point.
-
Langkah 14
Press harder on the final lines and erase the blocking-in.
Weight the silhouette and the beak, keep the feather marks light, erase the construction. The contrast in line weight is what separates finished from traced.
Awas Uniform line weight over the whole bird.
Priksa Silhouette darker than interior - check by squinting.
Apa kang katon kaya wis rampung
Gambar kang padha karo saben panduan dipasak lan mung garis-garis kang sampeyan arep tetep, ing bobot sing sampeyan arep. Yen sampeyan isih duwe garis tengah lan bentuk-blok ing ing iku, iki langkah sing sampeyan ora wis gawé - lan iki njupuk kira-kira tiga puluh detik.
Layangmu ora bakal katon kaya iki, lan ora kudu kaya iki. Iki ya iku konstruksi kang digawé nganggo wangunan kang dijupuk, ora gambar kang digawé wong liya kanggo dipuji - tujuané ya iku kanggo nyritakaké garis-garismu kang dadi panduan.
Apa kang diwulangake
What transfers is the egg-and-head build plus the discipline of drawing feather groups instead of feathers - the same restraint that draws hair, grass and fur.
The penguin is the site's simplest lesson in counterchange - a dark shape against light and light against dark along one boundary. That interior edge does more than the outline does, which is a preview of how value actually works.
Praktik iki: Line confidence Proportion Value range
Apa sing sampeyan butuhake
A pencil and any paper, or a finger on the canvas above - nothing here needs special equipment. Keep the construction light if you are on paper, because the guides come off at the end.
Yen ora bisa
If it looks like an owl, the beak is wrong - a penguin's is long, thin and pointed, set low on the head, nothing like a hooked triangle.
If it looks fat rather than streamlined, the widest point is too high. A penguin bulges below the middle - it is a bowling pin, not an egg on end.
If the bib is not working, its edges are too straight. The white front is bounded by two long curves that start at the face and widen down the body.

Pitakon kang dijaluk wong
- How do I draw a penguin's markings?
- One line each side, from the face down to the feet, widening as it goes - the boundary between dark back and white front. That bib line IS the penguin.
- Why does my penguin look like an egg?
- The widest point is too high. A penguin bulges below the middle, like a bowling pin - move the width down and the posture appears.
- How do I draw penguin flippers?
- As flat tapering paddles held slightly away from the body, with no feather detail at all. Feathered wings are the fastest way to break the drawing.
- How do I start drawing a penguin?
- With the body egg, always - never the head. The egg sets the size and tilt of everything, and a head drawn first ends up with a body that does not fit it.
- Where do the legs go on a penguin?
- Further back than they look - behind the middle of the body egg. What reads as the leg is mostly the foot, and the real joint is up inside the feathers.
- How do I draw the feathers on a penguin?
- As groups, never individually. Two or three curved rows on the wing are enough for the eye to fill in hundreds.
- Can a beginner draw a penguin?
- Yes. The construction is an egg and a circle, and the species detail arrives late enough that a rough version still reads.
- What size should the head be on a penguin?
- Smaller than instinct says - roughly a quarter of the body length. Oversized heads are what make drawn birds look like toys.
